


Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course
Course Description:
Prepare for the unexpected when help is delayed. This course is designed for individuals who work, live, or recreate in remote environments where emergency medical services may be an hour or more away. Participants learn advanced skills in patient assessment, providing extended care, managing environmental emergencies (heat, cold, altitude), treating injuries and illnesses with limited resources, and making critical evacuation decisions. Instructors with experience in austere environments guide participants through practical skills and challenging scenarios relevant to wilderness settings. Current adult CPR/AED certification is a prerequisite.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the skills session and written exam, participants will receive an official ARC Wilderness and Remote First Aid certification (valid for 2 years).
Target Audience:
Hikers, Campers, Hunters, Backpackers, Scout Leaders, Camp Counselors, Park Rangers, Outdoor Guides, Search and Rescue personnel, and anyone working or playing in remote locations.
