Description
Advanced First Aid delves deeper into assessment and stabilized management of both trauma and medical emergencies that may progress to life-threatening situations. The course bridges the gap between basic first aid and professional medical care, expanding on technical and decision-making skills for prolonged care or remote situations.
Learning Objectives
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments.
- Manage complex trauma: advanced bleeding control, head, neck and spinal injuries, major musculoskeletal injuries.
- Handle medical emergencies: diabetes, overdose/poisoning, severe allergic reactions, stroke, and acute cardiac events.
- Apply advanced splinting, bandaging, and immobilization techniques.
- Lead team-based response in multi-victim scenarios and disaster events.
- Ensure proper documentation and hand-off to EMS.
