Description:
PALS equips providers for advanced resuscitation and acute management of critically ill infants and children (excluding neonates). Evidence-based algorithms and clinical scenarios train participants in a family-centered, child-specific environment.
Learning Objectives:
- High-quality pediatric BLS and advanced airway management
- Recognition of and intervention for pediatric shock, respiratory failure, and cardiac arrest
- ECG rhythm analysis and medication administration based on age/weight
- Management of bradycardia, tachycardia, and cardiac arrest (shockable and nonshockable rhythms)
- Post-resuscitation stabilization and family communication
- Trauma management in pediatric patients
