Description

TECC for Lay Responders provides civilians with best-practice skills for trauma care during high-threat incidents, focusing on preventable death causes in active shooter, disaster, or mass casualty scenarios.

Learning Objectives

• Prioritize personal and scene safety in high-threat situations.
• Recognize and control life-threatening external bleeding (tourniquets, pressure dressings).
• Extract casualties from danger, maintain airway, and treat for shock.
• Use the MARCH algorithm (Massive hemorrhage, Airway, Respiration, Circulation, Hypothermia).
• Communicate with EMS and document interventions.
